At 1,300-1,326 Middle Huaihai Road is Huaihai Building that was originally known as Empire Mansions. The building is most distinctive with the horizontal lines produced by the continuous windows of zonal distribution, which strongly express the style of Art Deco with the vertical ornamental lines. The white outer walls were painted dun in the reconstruction in the 1990s.
